I'm redoing the flooring in my sunroom, and since we get some pretty intense storms around here, I'm trying to make sure I pick the right underlayment to keep things dry underneath. I've narrowed it down to two options: synthetic felt and rubberized asphalt.

The synthetic felt seems lighter and easier to handle, plus it's a bit cheaper. But I've heard mixed things about how well it holds up long-term, especially if water somehow sneaks in. Rubberized asphalt is supposed to be super durable and watertight, but it's heavier, pricier, and I've read it can be a pain to install (sticky mess anyone?).

Has anyone here used either of these? I'm leaning toward the rubberized stuff just for peace of mind, but if synthetic felt does the job just fine, I'd rather save myself the hassle (and cash). Curious what you guys think or if you've had any good/bad experiences with either one...
