Good catch on the drainage issue—seen plenty of those myself. Usually, if the initial setup's done right, you're halfway there. But yeah, nature finds a way...birds especially love messing things up. If you haven't already, consider adding a root barrier or filter fabric layer next time you're up there. Makes a noticeable difference long-term. Glad you spotted it early, saves a lotta headaches later.

Haha, birds are the worst culprits sometimes...had a nest clogging my gutters last spring. Good tip on the root barrier, hadn't thought of that. Curious though, anyone tried those bird deterrent spikes or netting setups? Wondering if they're worth the hassle or if they just end up causing more issues down the line...
I've installed plenty of those bird spikes and netting setups over the years. Honestly, spikes usually do the trick pretty well—birds just don't find them comfy enough to stick around. Netting can work too, but it's a bit more hassle to install properly and can trap debris if you're not careful. I'd lean towards spikes for simplicity, but either way, they're both better than dealing with clogged gutters every spring...
- Just put spikes up last fall—worked great so far.
- Netting seemed tricky, heard it can snag leaves and stuff?
- Definitely beats scooping soggy bird nests outta gutters every year...

Yeah, netting can be a bit of a hassle—seen plenty of gutters clogged with leaves tangled in nets. Spikes usually do the trick, just make sure they're secured properly... seen a few blown off after storms.
