Just finished going through the whole process of coordinating my roof replacement with an HVAC upgrade, and figured I'd share how I managed to snag some decent rebates. First thing I did was check with my local utility companyβturns out they offer rebates if you bundle energy-efficient upgrades. Then, I talked to both my roofing contractor and HVAC installer to make sure they were on the same page timing-wise. You know, so the roofers wouldn't accidentally mess up the new AC unit or vice versa.
After that, I had to fill out a bunch of paperwork (ugh, paperwork...), but it wasn't too bad. Mostly just proof of purchase and efficiency ratings. Took photos of everything just in case. Finally, submitted everything online through the utility company's rebate portal. Got confirmation pretty quick, and now I'm just waiting on the check.
But honestly, it felt kinda clunky at timesβlike herding cats getting everyone coordinated. Wondering if anyone else has done this before and maybe found a smoother way or has tips to make it less of a headache?
