Would you worry about lightning if your house had a metal roof?

Yeah, I’m with you—water is the real enemy. I’ve seen way more homes wrecked by slow leaks than by lightning. People get spooked by the idea of a metal roof “attracting” strikes, but that’s just not how it works. The grounding is what matters. I’d rather spend my time checking for loose fasteners or bad flashing than worrying about a one-in-a-million bolt from the blue. If you’re in Florida or somewhere with wild storms every week, maybe it’s worth thinking about, but for most folks, water’s the bigger headache.
