"I've also noticed that when projects incorporate sustainable practices—like green roofing—the inspectors often seem more engaged and supportive..."

Funny you mention that, because I've had the opposite happen once or twice. Had an inspector who seemed genuinely confused by our green roof setup—kept scratching his head and muttering about "plants on roofs." 😂 Eventually warmed up to it, but it took some convincing (and a quick Google search on his phone). Guess not everyone's caught up yet...

Haha, sounds like you got lucky with that inspector eventually warming up. Did you have to show him any specific technical docs or just general info? I've found having a quick reference guide handy helps ease inspectors into unfamiliar setups...saves a ton of time.

Haha, quick reference guides can be helpful, but honestly, I've found inspectors respond better when they see examples firsthand rather than paperwork. Had one inspector who couldn't wrap his head around our solar-integrated shingles until we showed him a similar project nearby—after seeing it in action, he was totally on board. Sometimes real-world examples speak louder than docs...though I guess it depends on the inspector. Did yours seem more comfortable once he saw everything functioning properly?

Yeah, totally agree—inspectors seem way more chill once they see things actually working. Had one guy scratching his head over our metal roof flashing until we climbed up and showed him it was watertight...then he was like "alright, looks good." Guess seeing really is believing, haha.

Totally see your point, but honestly inspectors can still be pretty skeptical about green roofs, even when you show them everything's good. Had one inspector who kept asking questions about drainage and weight distribution, even though we demonstrated it was already working fine. Seems like metal roofs might be easier to convince folks about since they're more familiar. Still, glad your inspector came around—sometimes that's half the battle right there, haha.
