Totally get where you're coming from. Had a customer last month who felt exactly the same—short deadlines made her anxious, but once I explained why material costs fluctuate, she relaxed a bit. Transparency really does go a long way... Congrats on the new place, btw!

- Had something similar happen recently.
- Quoted a roof replacement for a guy, gave him 30 days to lock it in.
- He came back almost 2 months later, upset the price went up.
- Explained shingles went up, plywood was through the roof (no pun intended), and suppliers weren't budging.
- He wasn't thrilled but once I broke down the numbers, he got it.
- Lesson learned: always clear on expiration dates and why they're there.
- Transparency def helps ease the sting of changing prices...
- Btw, congrats on the move—new places are exciting.

Had a similar issue last spring—quoted a homeowner on a metal roof, gave him 45 days. He circled back nearly 3 months later, surprised the numbers changed. I walked him through how metal prices jumped and suppliers were firm... he wasn't exactly happy, but he understood once he saw the breakdown. Definitely agree transparency is key. Clear expiration dates save everyone headaches down the line.

Couldn't agree more. Especially with sustainable roofing materials like recycled shingles or green roofs, supplier availability and pricing can fluctuate significantly. I've found clearly outlining market volatility upfront helps homeowners appreciate the transparency—even if it's not always great news.

Fair point about transparency, but honestly, too much emphasis on volatility can sometimes backfire. Had a homeowner once panic-buy shingles after hearing about possible price hikes—ended up storing stacks in his garage for months... wife wasn't thrilled, lol.
