Totally agree ventilation is often overlooked—learned that the hard way myself after panicking over a "roof leak" that turned out to be condensation. Quick tip: check if the dripping happens mostly during temp swings or humid days... that's usually a giveaway it's not your roof.

- Had a similar scare myself—thought my attic was leaking, turned out to be condensation from poor airflow.
- Builder said everything was "up to code," but clearly that doesn't always mean optimal ventilation...
- Wondering if anyone else noticed their bathroom fans aren't vented properly? Mine just dumped moisture into the attic space, making things worse.
- Also, attic insulation can play a role. Too much or improperly placed insulation can block airflow and trap moisture.
- Curious if newer homes are more prone to this issue due to tighter construction standards? Seems counterintuitive, but maybe we're sealing things up too well these days.

Had a similar issue in one of the properties I manage. Tenant kept reporting water stains on the ceiling, and after several checks, turned out the bathroom fan was venting straight into the attic insulation—total moisture trap. Even though everything met code, it definitely wasn't ideal. Makes me wonder if building codes are lagging behind modern airtight construction practices... Maybe it's time they updated ventilation standards to match how tightly we're sealing homes these days?

Yeah, I've been wondering about this too. Bought my first house last year and noticed the upstairs bathroom always felt damp—even with the fan running. Turns out the fan was vented properly outside, but the airflow was super weak, barely moving air at all. Had to upgrade to a stronger fan myself. Makes me think the current building codes might technically meet minimum standards but aren't really designed for how airtight newer homes have become... Seems like an update is overdue.

I've definitely come across similar situations during inspections. Had a client last year who moved into a brand-new townhouse and noticed the same dampness issue in their master bath. The fan was properly vented outside, but just didn't have enough CFM to handle the moisture load. Upgrading to a higher-capacity fan solved it for them too. It does raise valid questions about whether current ventilation standards fully account for how tightly sealed modern homes have become...
