Yeah, trusses can definitely make inspections trickier. I've run into situations where leaks went unnoticed longer than they should've because the attic was such a maze. But honestly, with a bit of planning—like strategically placed access panels or even inspection cameras—you can usually work around it. Rafters do offer easier access, but trusses aren't impossible to manage if you're proactive about it.

Totally agree with this. I've found that marking key inspection points ahead of time helps a ton. A quick trick we've used is to attach reflective tape or colored tags at critical spots—makes it way easier to spot potential trouble areas later on. Rafters are definitely simpler for crawling around, but I think trusses can still be manageable if you're organized from the start...just takes a bit more prep work.

Good point about the reflective tape—never thought of that. Do you find it holds up well over time, or does it start peeling off eventually? I've mostly stuck to marking with spray paint, but tape sounds cleaner...might give it a shot next time.

I've used reflective tape a few times, and honestly, it's a bit of a lottery. Had one job where it stuck so well it outlasted the shingles themselves—no joke, pulled them up years later and the tape was still glowing like a UFO landing site. But another time, same brand, same method, it peeled off within months. Maybe weather or surface prep makes a difference? Spray paint's reliable but messy as heck, especially on windy days... Ever had overspray land somewhere awkward?

Haha, that's a great visual. You're spot on about surface prep making a difference. I've found that giving the area a quick wipe-down with rubbing alcohol before applying reflective tape helps it stick way better. As for spray paint overspray... let's just say my neighbor wasn't thrilled about his newly speckled patio furniture. Lesson learned: always check wind direction first.
