"Hardware cloth slowed them down about as much as a 'Keep Out' sign would."

Haha, yeah, squirrels seem to take hardware cloth as a personal challenge rather than a barrier. Had a similar issue when a family of mice decided my attic insulation was their new luxury condo. Ended up layering metal flashing with steel wool stuffed into every tiny crevice I could find. Been quiet up there since, but now every time the wind blows funny, I'm up on a ladder checking corners again...

Haha, squirrels and mice are basically tiny furry ninjas—hardware cloth just sharpens their infiltration skills. Had a client once who swore he heard whispers in his attic at night. Turned out to be raccoons having nightly wrestling matches up there. We ended up installing galvanized sheet metal along all the vulnerable edges and reinforced vent screens with aluminum mesh. Seemed to do the trick, though I still catch myself listening suspiciously whenever I'm inspecting crawl spaces...

Haha, raccoons are something else... had a similar issue once, except it was squirrels stashing acorns in the soffits. Even after sealing everything up tight with metal flashing, I swear they spent weeks plotting revenge from the trees nearby. Sneaky little critters.

Haha, squirrels really do hold grudges, don't they? Had a family of them move into our attic one winter—thought I'd outsmarted them by sealing the gap near the chimney. Nope. They chewed right through some nearby siding to get back in. Ended up having to set up a humane trap and relocate them miles away. Felt a bit guilty, but at least they're probably plotting revenge on someone else's roof now...

Pretty sure mine still glare at me whenever I walk outside, though.

Haha, sounds familiar... Had a similar showdown with raccoons at my old place. Thought I was clever sealing off their entry point near the gutter—next thing I know, they're hosting midnight wrestling matches on my roof tiles. Ever tried sleeping through that racket? Pretty sure they knew exactly what they were doing. Do you think animals secretly enjoy messing with us, or are we all just paranoid homeowners?
