Hey guys, was chatting with a buddy yesterday who's been roofing for years, and we got into this whole debate about safety gear. He's old-school, says he feels safer without all the harnesses and ropes getting tangled, claims it messes with his rhythm. Me? I'm more of the cautious typeβ€”I like knowing there's something to catch me if I slip (I mean, gravity ain't exactly my friend, you know?).

Got me wondering what most roofers out there actually prefer. Do you guys always gear up fully, harness and all, or do you sometimes skip it on smaller jobs or lower roofs? I threw together a quick poll below:

- Always wear full safety harness and gear
- Depends on the job (height, slope, weather)
- Rarely or never use safety gear

Be honestβ€”no judgment here. Just curious to see how everyone approaches this stuff in the real world.
