Yeah, drones are definitely helpful, but you're right to be cautious. I've seen plenty of drone inspection reports that initially made roofs look like they were on the verge of collapse, only to find out later it was just exaggerated shadows or odd angles. One thing I've noticed is that drones often struggle with accurately capturing the depth and severity of shingle curling or minor granule loss—sometimes making normal wear look catastrophic.

On the flip side, though, drones can highlight genuine issues that might be missed during a quick visual check from the ground. For instance, flashing around vents and chimneys can be tricky to spot without an aerial view. But I agree completely about gutters—drone images can make them appear far worse than reality. It's always best practice to verify any concerning findings with a hands-on inspection before committing to expensive repairs. Tech is great, but nothing beats getting up close and personal when it comes to home maintenance...

Totally agree on drones exaggerating gutter issues—I once had a drone inspection that made the gutters look like they'd been through a hurricane. Climbed up myself afterward and found nothing but some leaves and twigs. Still, I gotta admit, drones have saved me from missing cracked chimney caps and hidden flashing leaks more than once. Like everything else, they're useful tools as long as they're backed up by actual eyes-on-the-ground verification. Tech's handy, but there's no replacing a good old-fashioned ladder climb sometimes...

Had a similar experience—drone pics made my roof look like a disaster zone. Got up there myself, and yeah, gutters were fine. But it did catch some cracked shingles I would've missed. Handy tool, but always double-check before opening your wallet...

Yeah, drones can exaggerate stuff sometimes...but catching those cracked shingles early probably saved you some headaches down the line. Good call climbing up yourself though—always better to verify before shelling out cash.

Drones are handy for sure, but honestly, I've seen them miss stuff just as often as they exaggerate. Had a buddy whose drone inspection came back clean, then a month later he found water stains in his attic—turned out there was hidden damage under the shingles that the drone completely missed. So yeah, climbing up yourself was definitely smart, but even then, sometimes damage isn't obvious from above. Did you check inside your attic too? Sometimes that's where the real clues hide... cracked shingles might just be the tip of the iceberg.
