I had the same concern before switching to metal. Honestly, I haven’t noticed any extra noise, even during those heavy downpours we get here. Maybe if the boots aren’t installed tight enough, you’d get some rattling, but mine seem solid. The peace of mind is worth it - no more worrying about leaks every time the weather flips. I do miss how easy the rubber ones were to install, but the tradeoff seems worth it in our climate.
