So I just had one of those classic homeowner moments—found a tiny drip under my kitchen sink, nothing major but annoying enough to bug me. Did some googling and ended up grabbing plumber's epoxy putty AND one of those waterproof repair tapes from the hardware store. Yeah, I know, probably overkill, but I'm indecisive like that.
Anyway, slapped on the epoxy first (kinda messy, smells weird, but seems sturdy). Then I got curious and tried the tape on another little drip spot in the laundry room (apparently my pipes are conspiring against me this week, lol). Tape went on cleaner and faster, but I'm skeptical how long it'll actually hold up.
Now I'm sitting here wondering if anyone else has experience with these two fixes. Which one do you trust more for small leaks? I'm leaning epoxy for durability but man, that tape was so easy...
I've messed around with both, and honestly, epoxy usually wins out for me. The tape is tempting because it's quick and clean, but I've found it tends to loosen up over time, especially if there's any pressure or heat involved.

Exactly my experience. Tape's great for a temporary fix or awkward spots, but epoxy just feels more permanent... even if it smells funky and makes your fingers sticky for hours afterward.
