Noticed yesterday after a windy storm there's a bunch of leaves, twigs, and random crud stuck under the edges of my shingles. It's not terrible yet, but I'm worried it'll trap moisture or cause other issues if I just leave it there. Tried brushing it out gently but it's kinda stubborn. Anyone dealt with this before? Is there some special tool or trick to clear it without damaging the shingles?

Yeah, that's pretty common after storms. Usually, a gentle stream from a garden hose aimed sideways (never upward!) can loosen things without harming shingles. Just be cautious about pressureβtoo much force isn't your friend here.
