Plus, those plastic clips never seem to go back quite right after you pop them out...

Totally get that. I once broke three clips just trying to check under the back seat for a damp spot—ended up with a rattle that drove me nuts for months. Now I just go by smell and feel unless there’s an obvious problem.

Those clips are my nemesis. Last time I tried to “gently” pry one out, it shot across the garage and disappeared forever. Now I just cross my fingers and hope nothing’s hiding under the trim... ignorance is bliss, right?

Man, those clips have a mind of their own. I swear, I’ve lost more of them than I’ve actually installed. I started keeping a magnet on hand just to track ‘em down after they go flying... doesn’t always work, but it’s saved me a few headaches. Honestly, I get the “ignorance is bliss” thing, but every time I skip checking under the trim, I end up regretting it later. Found a wasp nest once—never again.

Those trim clips are ridiculous. First time I tried to remove one, it ricocheted off the wall and I spent half an hour crawling around with a flashlight. I’ve started using a small parts tray with a magnet in the bottom—doesn’t stop them from flying, but at least if I find them, they don’t roll away again. I’m with you on checking under trim, though. Last month, I found a mouse nest behind some baseboard in the laundry room... not what I expected when just looking for water damage.

Trim clips are a pain—no argument there. I’ve had them ping off into the most impossible spots, and sometimes I’m convinced they just vanish. The magnet tray helps, but I’ve started taping a piece of cloth under the trim to catch anything that drops. As for what’s behind baseboards, I’ve pulled out everything from old keys to petrified fruit snacks... but a mouse nest definitely tops the list. Makes you wonder what else is hiding in the walls.
