Skipping the filter fabric is definitely a common oversight—you're not alone there. I've seen similar issues crop up in several properties I've managed. Proper drainage is often underestimated, but once sorted, it really does make a noticeable difference in comfort and roof longevity. Glad you tackled it head-on; it'll save you headaches (and maintenance costs) down the line. Metal roofs can be particularly tricky with condensation, but when done right, they're worth the initial hassle.

Yeah, learned that the hard way myself. Thought I'd save a few bucks skipping some steps, ended up with a mini rainforest in my attic. Once I sorted ventilation properly though, zero regrets—metal's been solid ever since.

Haha, seen that happen more times than you'd think. Metal roofs are great, but condensation issues usually come down to proper underlayment and air circulation. A breathable synthetic underlayment combined with ridge vents and soffit vents helps keep moisture from building up. Also, don't underestimate sealing around penetrations—chimneys, skylights, vent pipes—those small gaps can cause big headaches later on. Glad you got yours sorted out though... metal's definitely worth it when done right.

Yikes, reading this makes me nervous about my own attic now... I just moved into an older house with a metal roof, and honestly, I haven't even checked what's underneath yet. How obvious are these condensation issues—would I notice right away or is it sneaky?

Condensation can be sneaky for sure...but don't panic just yet. Usually, you'd notice dampness, a musty smell, or even little water droplets forming on the underside of your roofing material or insulation. If it's been going on a while, you might spot some dark stains or moldy patches up there. I'd grab a flashlight and pop your head into the attic next rainy day—better safe than sorry, right? Plus, gives you an excuse to explore your new attic space...who knows what you'll find?
