I've been trying to keep my rooftop garden pest-free without resorting to harsh chemicals, and it's been a bit of trial and error, honestly. First thing I did was plant some marigolds around the edges because I heard they help repel bugs naturally. Seems to be working okay-ish, but still seeing some aphids here and there.
Then I tried introducing ladybugsβordered a bunch online (yeah, you can actually do that, who knew?). They did a decent job munching on the aphids, but most flew away after a couple days. Guess my rooftop wasn't their dream home after all.
Lately I've been experimenting with neem oil sprayβjust mixing it up myself with water and a little soap. It's definitely reduced the pests noticeably, but I'm still not 100% satisfied. Wondering if anyone else has found something more effective or maybe has some tips for keeping beneficial insects around longer?
