Exactly, data doesn't lie. I'll admit, I was pretty skeptical about reflective attic foil myself at first. It seemed like another gimmicky upsell product—shiny stuff that looks good but doesn't do much. But after helping install it on a customer's house last summer, I had to rethink my stance.

We checked the attic temps before and after installation, and the difference was actually impressive—around 15 degrees cooler on similarly hot days. Not saying it's some miracle fix or anything, but that's definitely enough to make a real impact on energy bills over time. Still think some companies hype it up way too much though... but yeah, when done right and combined with proper ventilation, it does seem worth it.

Funny how neighbors always roll their eyes until they see actual proof, huh? Guess we're all skeptics till we see it ourselves.

Yeah, I've seen similar results during inspections. Had one homeowner who swore by it—said his AC didn't kick on nearly as often afterward. It's not magic, but combined with decent insulation and airflow, it definitely helps shave off some costs over time.

Had a similar experience myself a couple years back. I was pretty skeptical at first—figured it was just another upsell tactic from the roofing guys. But after biting the bullet and getting the reflective shingles installed, I did notice a difference. Not night-and-day, mind you, but enough to make me think there might be something to it. My AC still kicks on plenty during those brutal summer afternoons, but it seems to cycle off quicker than before.

Still, like you said, it's probably more about the whole package—good insulation, proper attic ventilation, and all that jazz. I wouldn't call it a miracle fix by any stretch, but hey, every little bit helps when you're trying to keep those energy bills down. Glad you found a company that treated you right; that's half the battle these days...

Yeah, that's been my experience too. I upgraded insulation first and noticed a bigger difference than when I switched shingles later. Makes me wonder if reflective shingles alone are really worth the extra cash...

- Had the same thought about reflective shingles... seemed pricey for what they actually do.

Definitely noticed insulation made the biggest difference here too.
- Wonder if anyone's tried radiant barriers instead—cheaper alternative maybe?
