Good advice on the attic check—it's surprising how many issues you can catch early with just a quick look. I'd also suggest keeping an eye on your gutters; clogged or damaged gutters often lead to roof problems down the line. Glad you found someone trustworthy, makes a huge difference.

Good call on the gutters—honestly, they're like the unsung heroes of roofing. People underestimate how much chaos a few leaves and twigs can cause... I've seen gutters so clogged they basically turn into mini rooftop gardens. 😂 Another sneaky culprit is moss buildup, especially if you're in a damp area. Ever had to deal with moss taking over your roof? Curious if others have found any clever DIY fixes or if it's always better left to the pros.

Honestly, moss isn't always the nightmare people make it out to be. Had some patches myself and just sprinkled baking soda up there—cheap fix, worked fine. Pros can be pricey for something pretty minor imo...

Yeah, baking soda's a pretty underrated trick—glad you mentioned it. I've seen a few homeowners swear by it, and honestly, if it works, why not save some cash? But I gotta admit, I've also come across roofs where the moss situation was a bit more stubborn, especially if left unchecked for years. Sometimes those pros charge extra because they're dealing with moisture damage or deeper issues you might not immediately notice. Still, you're totally right that people tend to panic over moss when often it's just cosmetic.

Curious though, did you see results right away with the baking soda, or did it take a few applications? I've heard mixed things about how quickly it kicks in. Either way, props for handling it yourself—roof maintenance doesn't always have to break the bank.

I've seen baking soda work pretty well, but it's definitely not an overnight miracle. Usually takes a couple of rains and maybe a second application if the moss is thick. Honestly though, if you've got deeper moisture issues or structural damage, baking soda won't cut it—seen plenty of roofs where folks tried DIY fixes and ended up paying more later. Still, for minor moss buildup, it's a solid trick to keep in your back pocket...and your wallet will thank you too.
