Fiberglass shifting is pretty common, but I'd lean more toward ventilation too. When I first moved into my place, I noticed a similar issue around the attic hatch. Thought it was just because the previous owners were always up there storing stuff. But after repositioning insulation, I started noticing small drafts around the hatch edges during colder days. Turned out my soffit vents were partially blocked by sloppy insulation placement, restricting airflow and causing uneven temperature zones.

Have you checked your soffit or ridge vents lately? Even minor blockages can cause noticeable drafts or condensation buildup... Also, attic hatches rarely seal perfectly, so adding weather stripping or foam insulation around the edges might help stabilize temperatures a bit more consistently.

Good catch on the soffit vents—I had a similar issue last winter. Thought it was insulation at first, but after clearing out some debris from the ridge vent, things improved noticeably. Definitely worth checking those vents periodically... small fixes can make a big difference.

- Good point on the ridge vent debris—seen that happen a lot after storms.
- Folks often overlook vents, thinking insulation or shingles first.
- Had a client last year convinced his roof was shot... turned out just clogged vents from leaves and twigs.
- Small maintenance checks like yours save headaches (and wallets) down the road.
- Glad you found a roofing crew that's honest; they're worth their weight in gold these days.

Couldn't agree more. I've seen folks panic over leaks or drafts, immediately thinking it's a major roof replacement, when often it's just a blocked vent or minor flashing issue. A quick seasonal check—especially after storms—can catch these things early. Glad you found a trustworthy crew; good roofers who won't upsell unnecessary work are getting harder to find these days... Hang onto their number!

Good points overall, but...

- Seasonal checks are helpful but not foolproof—some issues hide deeper.
-

"often it's just a blocked vent or minor flashing issue"
True, yet I've seen minor leaks mask bigger insulation or ventilation problems.
- Bottom line: regular checks good, but don't get complacent.
