Interesting point about metal roofs, but honestly, I've had birds nesting under my metal roof edges before. Maybe it's less common, but they're pretty resourceful critters...sometimes texture and scent aren't the whole story. Could just be luck or location too.

Yeah, metal roofs aren't exactly bird-proof—learned that the hard way myself. Had a family of sparrows set up shop right under mine last spring. Tried all sorts of things to discourage them, but they just adapted and made themselves comfy anyway. Honestly, sometimes it's just down to sheer stubbornness and determination (theirs, not mine...). Still, wouldn't trade my metal roof for anything; saved me a ton on repairs over the years.

Haha, sounds about right. Curious though—did you try installing bird spikes or mesh barriers around the edges? Seen mixed results myself, but might help keep your feathered tenants from getting too comfortable.

Bird spikes can be hit or miss, honestly. Had a client once who installed them everywhere, and the pigeons just built their nests right on top—talk about stubborn tenants... But mesh barriers usually do the trick if they're fitted properly. Worth a shot, anyway.

Mesh barriers definitely seem more reliable from what I've read, especially if they're installed tightly without gaps. But I'm curious—has anyone tried ultrasonic bird repellents? I've seen mixed reviews online, some swear by them, others say they're a waste of money. Wondering if it's worth considering as an additional measure or if it's just marketing hype...
