Been chatting with my neighbor yesterday, and he mentioned he got someone to fly a drone over his roof to check for damage after the last storm. Honestly, never even crossed my mind that was a thing people did casually now. I mean, I knew drones were everywhere, but didn't realize regular homeowners were getting in on it too.

Got me thinking...would you guys actually pay for something like this? Or would you rather just climb up there yourself (or send someone else up there, lol)? I'm kinda torn—on one hand, seems safer and quicker than hauling out the ladder and risking life and limb. On the other hand, feels sorta extra, you know?

Anyway, quick poll time:

Would you pay someone to drone-check your roof/property?

- Yep, sounds convenient and safer.
- Nah, I'd rather DIY it old-school.
- Maybe if it wasn't too pricey.
- Wait...people actually do this??

Curious what most folks around here think about this kinda thing.

Honestly, drones are cool and all, but they're not always the best for spotting subtle roof issues. I've seen drone footage miss stuff like loose shingles or minor flashing problems that you'd catch easily up close. Sure, it's safer than climbing a ladder yourself (especially if you're clumsy like me...), but sometimes old-school eyeballs-on-the-roof is still the way to go. Maybe drones for a quick check, but I'd still trust a hands-on inspection for peace of mind.
