Wondering if they're worth the hassle and expense.

I installed hurricane clips myself last summerβ€”it's doable solo, but honestly, having someone hold things steady would've saved me a lot of frustration. Storm shutters are great too, but window film...meh, didn't notice much difference during heavy storms.

Yeah, hurricane clips are definitely worth the effortβ€”seen them save roofs firsthand. Window film though...I agree, pretty underwhelming. Has anyone tried reinforced garage doors? Curious if they're worth the investment or just hype.

Reinforced garage doors can be legitβ€”seen a few hold up impressively during storms. But honestly, depends on your exposure and wind direction. If your garage faces open areas or gets direct gusts, probably worth it...otherwise, might be overkill.

Totally agree with this. Helped a buddy reroof his place last summer, and he had one of those reinforced garage doors installed. Honestly, seemed like overkill at first...until a nasty storm rolled through. His house faces an open field, and the wind was brutal. Door held up great, but a neighbor's regular door got pretty mangled. Definitely worth considering if you're in a similar spot.

Fair point, but does reinforcing the garage door alone really make that big a difference overall? I'd think windows or roof anchoring would be just as critical...maybe more so depending on the house design. Did your buddy upgrade those too?
