Spray foam definitely has its advantages, especially if installed correctlyβ€”good call on emphasizing that. One thing I'd add, though, is considering how it holds up against severe weather events like flooding or wind-driven rain. Have you looked into how spray foam insulation performs if water intrusion occurs? I've seen cases where improper sealing or unnoticed leaks led to moisture trapped behind foam, causing hidden structural issues down the line. Curious if anyone's had experience with that scenario...

I've had similar concerns about spray foam myself. A neighbor of mine had a small roof leak that went unnoticed for months because the foam hid the moisture buildup. By the time they caught it, there was already some rot starting. Makes me wonder if pairing spray foam with some kind of moisture detection system or regular inspections might be a good idea. Has anyone tried combining insulation methods to balance efficiency and moisture management?

I've seen this happen more times than I'd like to admitβ€”spray foam can be great, but it definitely masks leaks. Combining it with regular inspections or even mixing insulation types (like foam plus batt insulation) can help catch moisture issues early. You're on the right track thinking about moisture detection systems too...

Totally agreeβ€”spray foam can hide a lot of sins if you're not careful. I've found pairing it with moisture sensors in vulnerable spots (like basement corners or attic edges) really helps. Caught a sneaky leak last winter that way...saved me a ton of hassle later.

Spray foam definitely has its place, but I've seen it cause trouble too. Had a client once who went heavy on spray foam in the attic after storm damageβ€”looked great at first, but moisture got trapped behind it. Ended up with mold issues down the line. Moisture sensors are smart; I'd also suggest regular visual checks after big storms. Sometimes just getting eyes on those hidden corners can catch things sensors might miss...or at least give you peace of mind.
