Been doing some DIY roof repairs lately—nothing major, just replacing some shingles and patching up a few spots. Anyway, I always just grabbed whatever hammer was handy, usually my trusty old claw hammer. But last weekend, my neighbor lent me his roofing hammer (the one with the funny-looking head and magnet thingy), and man, what a difference. At first, I thought it was just gimmicky, you know, like another tool companies sell you that you don't really need. But nope, turns out that magnet is a lifesaver when you're balancing on a ladder and trying not to drop nails everywhere. Plus, the shape of the head made it way easier to position shingles without tearing them up.

Kinda proud of myself for finally figuring out why roofers swear by these things. Curious if anyone else had a similar "aha" moment with a specialized tool they underestimated at first?
