- Been there with the glove mess. For me, it’s usually juggling between patching drywall and fixing leaky valves in tight corners.
- The blue chemical gloves hold up better than most, but I’ve had a few split right at the thumb after a rough day.
- Tried tossing the fabric/rubber ones in with towels on cold, but they still come out weirdly stiff... not sure there’s any saving them.
- Honestly, I just keep a stash of nitrile disposables for quick jobs and use the thicker ones for anything messy. It’s not perfect, but at least my hands aren’t raw by quitting time.

Yeah, I hear you on the stiff fabric gloves—mine always end up feeling like cardboard after a wash, no matter what I try. I’ve had the blue chemical ones split at the thumb too, especially when I’m crawling around after a storm, trying to get at awkward spots. Ever tried those textured nitrile gloves? They’re a bit pricier, but I find they last longer when I’m dealing with wet debris or sharp edges. Still, nothing’s perfect. Do you find the disposables get sweaty fast, or is that just me?

Definitely not just you. I swear, those disposable nitrile gloves turn my hands into mini saunas after about ten minutes—especially if I’m hauling branches or digging out gutters. The textured ones grip better, but yeah, still sweaty. I’ve tried powder-free and powdered, but it doesn’t seem to matter much. Ever had one rip right as you’re grabbing something gross? That’s always fun... I keep a towel handy just for glove sweat at this point.

That’s the worst—happened to me while cleaning out a clogged drain last month. Honestly, I switched to those thicker reusable gloves for anything messy. They’re not perfect, but at least my hands don’t feel like they’ve been in a steam room. Disposables are fine for quick jobs, but for yard work or anything heavy, they just don’t cut it.

Yeah, I hear you—those thin disposable gloves are basically useless if you’re dealing with anything tougher than a quick wipe-down. I used to buy the cheap packs, but after a few “surprise” rips (once while cleaning out the gutter... not fun), I started grabbing those thicker rubber ones from the hardware store. They last way longer and you can actually rinse them off for next time. Only downside is they get kinda gross inside if you forget to dry them out, but I’d rather deal with that than whatever’s lurking in the drain.
