Good call on reinforcing the roof—definitely not something you wanna skip. Did you have to get permits or inspections for that? I've heard some towns can be picky about structural stuff, even if it's just a shed or garage...

Depends on the town, honestly. Some places barely glance at sheds, others treat 'em like you're building a skyscraper. Always worth a quick call to city hall—better safe than sorry, trust me... learned that the hard way once.

- Had a similar issue last summer after a big storm knocked down my fence.
- Thought I'd just replace it myself to save cash, but neighbor mentioned permits.
- Called city hall and turns out, yep, needed inspection even for a simple fence.
- Glad I checked first... fines would've cost way more than hiring someone in the first place.
- Always worth double-checking, even if it seems minor.

Went through something similar recently—thought a shed was no big deal, but turns out even small structures need permits. City websites usually list requirements clearly, but calling directly saves headaches... and wallet aches. Learned my lesson the hard way, haha.

Definitely agree—online info can be outdated or incomplete. When I built my deck, the website said nothing about setback distances, but a quick call clarified everything. Did you run into any unexpected zoning issues after the storm cleanup?
