Just finished going through the whole process of getting some financial help for making my house more energy efficient. Honestly, it was a bit of a maze at firstβ€”government websites aren't exactly known for being user-friendly, you know? But here's roughly what I did:

First, I checked out my local utility company's website. Turns out they had rebates for certain upgrades like insulation and energy-efficient windows. Then, I looked into federal tax creditsβ€”there's a form (5695, I think?) that you fill out during tax season to claim credits for stuff like solar panels or heat pumps.

After that, I found a state-run grant program online. Had to submit an application with quotes from contractors and proof of income. Took a while, but eventually got approved.

Honestly though, I'm wondering if there's an easier way to navigate all this stuff. Did anyone else find shortcuts or better resources than just googling around randomly?
