Twice a year checks might sound like a pain, but I’m with you—our weather’s brutal on roofs, and moss is basically a permanent resident up there. I used to think my green roof could handle anything, but one winter the drainage layer got clogged and suddenly I had a rooftop pond... not the eco-feature I was aiming for. Now I do a spring sweep for debris and a fall check for membrane splits, especially around the drains. Costs less than replacing half the insulation after a leak, that’s for sure.
