I get where you're coming from, but honestly, isn't worrying sometimes justified? Like with your basement floodingβsure, obsessing isn't helpful, but a bit of vigilance can save you a ton of hassle later. I work on roofs, and I've seen folks ignore minor leaks or weird shingle patterns, thinking it's nothing. Weeks later, they're dealing with mold or structural damage...a total nightmare.
Maybe the trick is figuring out the line between caution and obsession. Personally, if something has potential to cause serious damage or cost a lot of money, I'd rather check it once too often than not enough. But how do you guys draw that line? Is it more about gut feeling, past experiences, or something else entirely?
