I've been noticing lately that my roof is starting to show its age a bit—nothing major yet, but you know, some shingles curling up here and there, a few spots looking kinda worn out. Got me thinking that I should probably start keeping track of how things progress over time, just so I don't get blindsided by a sudden leak or something worse down the road.

Thing is, I'm not exactly sure what's the best way to go about it. I mean, do people usually just snap some photos every few months and compare them later? Or is there some kind of app or software that's good for this kinda thing? I heard someone mention drones once, but honestly, that sounds a bit overkill for my little house, haha.

Also, if anyone has tips on what exactly I should be looking out for—like specific signs of trouble or red flags—I’d appreciate it. I'm not exactly a roofing expert (far from it), so any pointers would be great. I just wanna make sure I'm not missing something obvious.

Oh, and if you've got any funny or cautionary roof stories, feel free to share. Might as well learn from someone else's mistakes before I make my own, right?

Anyway, how do you guys usually keep an eye on your roofs? Any simple methods or tools you'd recommend?
