are longer roofing panels really worth the hassle?

I'm currently planning a small workshop build in my backyard, nothing fancy, just a place to tinker and store tools. I've been looking into roofing options, and I'm stuck between using those longer span roofing panels or just going with the standard-sized ones. Longer panels seem like they'd mean fewer seams and maybe less chance of leaks, but then again, they're harder to handle and transport... plus, I heard they can warp easier if you're not careful. Anyone got experience with these? Are the longer ones actually worth the extra trouble or should I just stick with the regular panels?

I get why you'd lean toward longer panelsβ€”fewer seams definitely cuts down on potential leaks and maintenance headaches. But honestly, for a smaller backyard workshop, standard-sized panels might save you some hassle. I've seen a few DIYers struggle with those long sheets, especially if wind picks up midway through installation (been there myself, not fun...). How big exactly is your workshop? If it's not huge, standard panels might do the trick just fine without the wrestling match.

How steep is your roof pitch? Longer panels can be tricky on steeper slopesβ€”especially solo. Standard panels might mean more seams, but with proper overlap and sealing, leaks aren't usually an issue. What's your comfort level with sealing seams?
