Spent ages repainting our little beach cottage because the last colors faded and peeled way faster than expected. Did some digging around, talked to a few locals, and ended up going with softer pastel shades (muted blues and greens mostly) in marine-grade paint. It's been almost a year now, and the colors still look fresh and vibrantβ€”even after storms and salty winds. Curious if anyone else had similar luck with certain colors or brands...

Interesting choice on the pastels. I tried something similar a couple years backβ€”went with muted seafoam green and pale blue on our coastal cabin, thinking they'd hold up better against fading. Surprisingly, even though the colors stayed vibrant, I found that lighter shades showed dirt and grime way more than expected. After every storm, it felt like I was out there scrubbing off salt residue and sand splashes. Eventually, I switched to deeper, richer tones (a slate gray-blue and darker sage green) in a high-quality marine paint, and while they might fade slightly faster, they hide dirt and weathering much better. Less maintenance overall, which suits my schedule. Curious if you've noticed any extra cleaning needed with your pastel shades, or maybe it's just my location that's particularly messy...
