Honestly, flashing leaks are sneaky little devils—what looks like a quick patch job usually turns into a weekend-long saga of frustration and regret. If rust is already showing, you're probably past the point of slapping on some sealant and calling it a day. Might be worth biting the bullet and getting someone who knows their stuff to handle it before your ceiling decides to redecorate itself...
