Just saw this news story about someone bricking their brand new GPU after a botched BIOS flash. Apparently, the guy noticed weird artifacts and random crashes, but ignored it until the card completely died on him. Made me wonder how common this actually is...I mean, I've flashed firmware before and always had that tiny moment of panic, you know, when the screen goes black for a sec. Curious if anyone here ever had similar experiences or close calls?

Yeah, that moment is always nerve-wracking... I've never outright bricked anything, but had a BIOS flash once that froze halfway through. Luckily, a CMOS reset saved meβmaybe worth trying before calling it dead?
