Should I increase venting?

1988 built home in SoCal. Looking to replace the underlayment and keep existing clay tiles. Currently the home has a single gable vent, which I assume is for the intake on the second floor's attic crawl space and there are two dormer vents on top of the roof.

According to the building plans, this provides 674 sqin of provided ventilation, more than the 475 sqin as required by code.

Going forward is there much benefit in adding additional intake and exhaust vents? Replace the dormers with Ohagin vents? I am sure the net free ventilation area is different between the Ohagin and the original Dormer, but how does the math pencil out if we went down this route?

The home will be getting solar and the open space of the roof area is a plus here.

The green X represents an attic space (storage) that currently has no vents on that side of the roof. The configuration below would add both intake and exhaust. Since it's used for storage, would it introduce a lot of dust in the attic space? I wouldn't mind making that area cooler in the summer for the stored items, but dusting is a concern.

With regards to underlayment, are you guys sold on the peel and stick with the radiant barrier on top?  What else should I consider here? (solar powered vent on the roof? attic fan on gable end?)
